Describe your feeling the moment you just came back home with your newborn?

Relieved (I had a very rough third trimester!), beyond happy, and excited to start life as a new family of 5!

What & when was the first time you did something just for yourself again?

Baths at night and face masks pretty soon after he was born. Having a baby nurse made the transition easier and gave me more time to focus on ME, and self-care! It’s super important to take care of yourself in the fourth trimester!

Name the thing your partner is the best at doing with your child.

Ha.. he's great at holding him for a few minutes while he’s calm, fed, and clean He’s only 8 weeks old and my husband doesn’t really know how to deal with creatures that small..He’s the best dad in the world. but he rocks once they get a tad older and less fragile!!

Did you nurse your baby? How did that go for you in the first weeks & months?

I am still doing a combination of nursing and pumping. I love nursing in the morning in bed. It’s our special quiet and cozy time. I’m running around a lot throughout the day so I mostly pump but it’s going well so far! I supplement with formula as needed throughout the day as I’m not putting too much pressure on myself to build my supply. I’m doing the best I can and enjoying the process this way without all the stress and pressure that I put on myself for my other kids.

How did (or do) you deal with sleep in the first few months? Did you sleep train?

This time around we hired a baby nurse (24 hour help) because my husband and I both work, we have two other kids and as I run my own business I needed help with the baby so that I could continue to work right after he was born. Having a nurse is a game-changer! Such a blessing being able to sleep at night. We are starting to sleep train next week! Wish us luck!!

How did you deal with the first time you left him for the day? one tip for new moms?

I haven’t left him yet (I feel so lucky that I get to work at home!!) and hope I don’t have to do it for a while. But if/when I do I just need to tell myself that he’s in good hands and whatever I’m leaving him for is super important too!

How/when did you start on solids? Do you have a fun story about first meals

He’s only 8 weeks.. but crazy excited to start at 4 months. It’s my favorite stage.. Obviously

What makes her/him laugh the most?

He’s just starting to smile now and it’s the sweetest and most special thing in the world. I don’t know exactly what makes him smile as it’s kind of random now. But every time he does we melt!
