Babymoon Ideas While Staying at Home
Six Socially-Distant Babymoon Ideas
With coronavirus limiting everyone’s ability to travel safely, taking a babymoon to a far-off destination might not be a reality right now.
But that doesn’t mean you need to skip your babymoon entirely! Take inspiration from the staycation and make your home your babymoon destination.
We’ve come up with some ideas for taking a break from the everyday and enjoying time with your partner before your baby arrives.
Of course, it’s up to you to decide the kinds of activities you find safe right now. As always, do what’s best for you and check with your care team if you have any questions about staying healthy and happy during your pregnancy.
Bring the Spa Home
Recreate your favorite spa experiences in the comfort of your home!
Give yourself a facial, hair mask, or manicure (or better yet, all three!). You could even ask your partner to step in and provide a massage or pedicure.
For an added spa touch, add an essential oil diffuser to the mix for aromatherapy.
And while we don’t suggest a bath in your first trimester, you may be able to soak later in your pregnancy. Just check with your care team before you draw that bubble bath.
Fine Dining Chez Vous
Harness your inner Julia Child and create a deluxe dinner to enjoy at home. Cook with your partner for a fun, playful bonding moment.
Or, if they are a master chef, ask if they’d be up for planning, prepping, and cooking your elaborate feast.
Scour your cookbooks for meals that are slightly too involved for weeknight suppers. Or, go online to find that perfect dish to suit your mood!
Upgrade Your Sleep Essentials
Give yourself the beauty rest you deserve by upgrading your sheets and other bedding.
Re-create the magic of sliding into a luxurious hotel duvet by bringing a new one home. Or, get new pillows that offer full support all night long. And, if you really want to go big, you could consider a new mattress.
Throw in a new eye mask, PJs, robe, and slippers for supreme coziness at home!
Go for a (Socially-Distant) Walk on the Beach
While it may not be the same as feeling warm, white sand between your toes, your local beach or boardwalk give you the chance to stroll near the water.
And, of course, follow guidelines for keeping yourself safe when you’re enjoying your stroll.
Get Into Forest Bathing
The Japanese art of forest bathing simply means getting into nature and disconnecting from technology for a little while.
City or State parks are a great place to get into nature and walk a trail for a little while. If you can get there safely and maintain your safety while you’re out, a gentle walk in nature can be a calming activity.
Go for a Country Drive
If you have access to a private car, get into the passenger seat and enjoy a scenic drive. Pack some road snacks, sing along to your favorite tunes, and spend quality time with your partner on the open road.
